Install Indicators and Systems in MetaTrader 4

This article is mainly dedicated to beginners, as experienced professionals no longer need this information.

So, in this short article we are not going to go into technical details, we just describe how to perform the installation of indicators and systems on the MetaTrader 4 trading platform.

For example, you will find some strategy or indicator, the use of which promises to bring you considerable profit.

First you need, of course, to install MetaTrader, after that, just define the indicators and strategies in MetaTrader 4, if the files are zipped, you need to unzip them. In this case, the default should be the .tpl extension for templates, and indicators that are in .ex4 or .mq4.

On our website all files are compressed in ZIP, to unzip you will need software that can be found for free on the web.

After you have installed MT4, then you need to run the terminal and in the top left corner click on “File” tab, click on “Open Data Folder”.

After you click on this folder, let's see the “MQL4” folder, let's double click or right-click and “Open Folder”

After that, we need to define our indicator, we must put the already unzipped file in the “Indicators” folder.

After having installed the bookmarks, we can now place our template in the “Templates” folder with .tpl extension.

When the above steps are done and all the necessary files are in the appropriate folders, it is mandatory to restart MetaTrader 4. Then, just open the “Template” folder and select the desired system.

To add an indicator or indicators, just drag and drop the indicator into the platform, or click with the right mouse button and “Attach to Chart”
