The Black Dog system is best known for being a highly effective trend-following Forex trading strategy for day trade and for intraday trading.

Anatomy of the Black Dog System

• Fast & Slow BDv8 ColorMAs: These MAs are used to detect and filter the current market trend. The price usually closes above these MA levels when the trend is up. For a downtrend confirmation, a price must close below the MA levels. Fast BDv8 Color MA reacts with price action faster than slower.
• BD Crossover: Displays the crossover signals using moving averages of various parameters in the background. It plots the crossover signals with their up/down arrows around the price bars in the main chart window.
• MACD: a well-known momentum-based indicator. Its value rises above the zero level signals bullish market momentum. MACD carrying a negative value represents the market momentum as bearish.

Setting up a price chart

• Copy the indicators to the MQL4 folder -> indicators;
• Restarting the terminal;
• Open the chart of the desired currency pair;
• Install a template called Black Dog.

• The price is holding its position above the Fast & Slow BDv8 ColorMA;
• BD Crossover signals the bullish crossover by tracing the blue arrow up;
• MACD turns positive and continues to rise;
• Buy when all the above conditions are met;
• Set stop loss below Fast & Slow BDv8 ColorMA levels;
• Exit whenever your trade reaches 1:2 risk.

• The price is holding its position below the Fast & Slow BDv8 ColorMA;
• BD Crossover signals the bearish crossover by drawing a red down arrow;
• MACD turns negative and continues to fall;
• Sell ​​when all the above conditions are met;
• Set stop loss above Fast & Slow BDv8 ColorMA levels;
• Exit whenever your trade reaches 1:2 risk.
